Welcome to this week's edition of Weekly News ...
This week at Surrey Chambers we have been out and about the county promoting the Chamber far and wide. On Monday we were at Foxhills for our Link2China Launch. Link2China is a business match making services for those companies considering expanding their market overseas. Richard was at Coombe Hill
Golf Club with the Surrey Chambers of Commerce Golf Society; somewhere where I believe the Society will be returning next year!
Wednesday saw us at the Grapevine event hosted at Farleigh Court in Warlingham. Farleigh Court, the sister venue of Foxhills, has had a vast redevelopment and this was one of our first networking events at the finished venue. Over 140 visitors enjoyed the beautiful May sunshine to develop their networks and customer bases.
Finally, we heard this week that a company has been contacted members pertaining to be from Surrey Chambers of Commerce. Members will only be contacted by our members of staff; Louise Punter, Caroline Cherryman, Amanda Masters, Carol Squires, Sarah Edwards, Jenny Caldecourt, Andy Willmott, Amanda Hutchison, Richard Guillaume or Chris Blenkiron or appointed representatives of Surrey Chambers. These appointed representatives will always tell you
which company they are from and we would encourage any members who are unsure about the validity of a call to contact us.
Enjoy the lovely sunshine everyone.

Property Group Lunch – a roaring success
Surrey Chambers of Commerce held its annual Property Group lunch in Guildford on Wednesday 16th May, kindly sponsored by Hart Brown.
The lunch took place at the beautiful Guildhall and saw over 60 local business people in attendance listening to an interesting presentation from Ed Hayden from Scott Brownrigg.
Ed is an integral member of the practice’s Sustainability Group and a key driver for sustainable design across Scott Brownrigg. Working across a broad range of sectors including business space, residential, defence, education and transport Ed focuses on providing innovative, low carbon solutions whilst meeting the aspirations
and goals of the client.
Ed spoke about sustainable design solutions to produce buildings that are efficient, inexpensive to operate and integrate renewable energy where practical, using the competition winning design for the new zero carbon headquarters for the Centre for Agricultural Bioscience International (CABI) as an example.
